My Child

For perfection I know not why you strive,
Mistakes are what I expected ever since you arrived.

Mistakes you have labeled as bad, I don’t know why,
Lessons they are to help you grow near me in the heavenly sky.

Perfection is for me and not for you,
If you were made perfect you would be God too.

That is my job and I am glad for that role,
Letting go of perfection you can give me control.

Control to guide you each and every day,
To a full and enjoyable life, I will lead the way.

Be not so hard on you and your brother,
Remember you will be judged as you judge another.

Show love to yourself and to others,
You are all children of God related as sisters and brothers.

So learn from those things you have labeled mistakes,
I will continue to call them lessons for your soul’s sake.

See everyone you meet as your spiritual family on earth,
Treat all with love and kindness, everyone has incredible worth.

Pay attention to every person you meet every day,
They are my angels to lead you to your right way.

I love you so much child of mine,
Live in love and your Spirit will forever shine.

	The Universe As Our Guide I love the way this poem captures both the nurturing spirit of the Universe guiding its children, while also providing a striking realization that perfection is nothing more than the delusion of control rearing its ugly head.     I deeply connected with the reference to everyone we encounter as being a guide to our greatness.
